Sheffield A. ("Sheffie") Kadane has maintained a life-long commitment to East Dallas.
His good neighbor philosophy and community volunteerism — combined with passionate support of White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum — led Sheffie to positions of leadership on the City of Dallas' Park and Recreation Board and Board of Adjustment.
But it was Sheffie's congenial style that won over District 9 voters in 2007 when they first elected him to represent them at City Hall and, again in 2009 and 2011.
District 9 residents and the citizens of Dallas have learned that Sheffie Kadane is more than just a nice guy.
When he is not rolling up his sleeves alongside District 9 residents to protect and improve our neighborhoods, Sheffie is tirelessly working with civic leaders and businesses to lower crime, promote economic development, improve our schools, and insure basic city services.
Unassuming in his manner — but effective on the issues that matter to us most — Sheffie Kadane has demonstrated that the tough issues facing District 9 don't always have to be met with rancor or posturing.
